This passage was one taught to me early on but not in church. I got saved through Amway. Many get really upset at the idea of someone drawing circles. Though I left shortly after getting saved, those of us coming out of homosexuality know or have felt persecuted. In Amway, they taught us, “Some will, some won’t. Get up, dust your feet off and keep sharing.” Funny thing is that I took this to mean about me and my life and man’s rejection. I guess the reality was that I was way more invested in God’s plan for my life than getting rich. Later, to the point that I sold my two companies and my two new cars, to go out on faith to do ministry full time.

People WASTE there lives living in fear of man. There are people in our lives that will absolutely reject us, if they find out our issue is homosexuality (because of their own personal baggage) but most people will love and affirm you, especially if you are trying to pursue Christ. Read all of Matthew 10. Was Christ telling them to be shy about sharing? NO! He was preparing them to die, but told them to go anyway! Don’t WASTE your life living in fear of man! Find freedom! COME OUT of the Christian closet, regardless of what you struggle with, and yes to you like me who has same-sex attraction. There is WORK for YOU to do! There is a real life of freedom in Christ to be had!

“So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:26-28 NIV)
